Repercussions of Driving Without License

A driver’s license is an important identification or proof that a person has passed the driving test necessitated by governing provincial laws. In some countries, a license is given to any person owning a vehicle and is about to drive. Obtain a license is crucial to ensure a driver’s safety when driving a motorized vehicle on a public road and the safety of the pedestrians. In other countries, age is a requirement in obtaining a license.

Laws for obtaining a driver’s license vary from province to province and according to the type of vehicle owned. Generally, a driver is allowed to drive any vehicle except that for some large and special vehicles, such as ambulance, cranes and large towing trucks, exclusive licenses should be obtained. Driving test, as a requirement for obtaining a license, usually differs in each jurisdiction, which may make it hard for drivers to conform to the rules.

A driver commits offense when caught driving without a license. The declaration of offense is based on the number of times a law enforcer or police caught the offending driver. A first offense usually requires a driver to be ticketed by the law enforcer and face a judge. He/she may be fined by the court according to the judge’s discretion based on the provisions of the law.

Some provinces enforce harsher directives for driving without license. If a police discovers a driver without license, he/she can immediately send the driver to jail and the car impounded. However, the driver has to be released after a few hours or as soon as bail is made. When a driver still fails to obtain license after the first offense and caught by the police the second time around, he/she faces harsher penalties.

In some provinces, a second offense allows a judge to suspend or revoke the offender’s license. This means that the license shall not be handed to the offender until the period of suspension or revocation ends. A person found driving suspended license can immediately be subject to revocation, a more permanent penalty.

The lack of a driver’s license can be a bigger headache when accompanied with other offenses such as fighting speeding. Fighting speeding tickets are as expensive as tickets given when caught without a license. Not only that ticket will cost the offender a lot but the entire case that usually requires a lawyer is also tremendously expensive.

A Toronto Personal Injury Lawyer Social Utility

TESTIMONY TO CAR ACCIDENT TORONTO AS A SOCIAL UTILITY FROM A PHD STUDENT AT UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO

toronto.mp4 Watch on Posterous

Thanks Basil, as discussed, this concept is truly a necessary service for many Ontarians that are currently lost, and those that will become lost in an unfortunate future accident.  It also has sentimental value as you know my father went through 12 years of dealing with a post-accident insurance situation. I found that everyone was pulling towards the perimeter, while nobody was pulling to the middle (in my father's direction). The insurance companies pulls towards their best interest, the personal injury lawyer , the rehabilitation center, the physicians.....who pulled in my father's direction? Well, the answer was a little less clear at the time....so I took that role.

In order to get an unbiased idea of what was going on, I had to survey the truth from all parties involved, and gauge where the middle was in order to steer in the right direction. So there you go....an unbiased and experienced service provider after a car accident is a social necessity.....I'm surprised that 2010 is the first year that this idea might materialize.....but then again, the world awaits when these ideas are executed and don't remain dormant in our imaginations.  Creative imagination is important. Determined execution is another dimension altogether.

Unsuspecting Ontarians await to set an example for the world over.  To measure the social utility of such an innovation is tough right now, for the obvious reason that this is "first in class", and there isn't enough data to objectively compare this to the "status-quo". Execute for two years, and the data will follow.  The first contact after an accident is usually the police. The second is usually the insurance company. The third is usually a personal injury lawyer. The fourth is usually a doctor (although this may come before the insurance company depending on severity). Fifth, sixth, seventh may be a slew of service providers which may include rehab clinics, specialty clinics, banks... Where do you fit in? If in two years, after the data is crunched, pending a positive social utility that would make it hard for politicians to resist not investing "attention" to a potential cost-saving intervention, then I suggest you market this innovation to the police....they are first on the scene, and can be valuable beneficiaries and allies in your voyage.

Traffic Lawyers to the Rescue

As a driver, it is unavoidable to commit speeding especially when you are running late for school, for work, or if there is an emergency that you need to attend to. The worst past is that speeding can get you into trouble since it is against the law. Specific speed limits have been assigned to every public highway to avoid any accidents. Of course, failure to follow speed limits leads to paying fines and other penalties. To defend yourself and make sure that you practice your rights as a road user and as a driver, you may want to hire a lawyer who has the legal expertise and experience in handling a speeding violation. Protecting your wallet and your driving privileges from the damages caused by speeding tickets or other traffic violation citations may be confusing, too. Most people are unaware of their options to combat these citations and simply accept the penalty and pay the fine. However, not addressing these matters properly lead to long-term issues, including eventual license suspension or revocation. Speeding ticket lawyer helps you address traffic violation citations as soon as a law enforcer agent tickets you. A lawyer may be the key to reducing the damage caused by a conviction, saving you money and avoiding the hassles that come with a license suspension. Traffic ticket lawyer understands the importance of limiting the harm done by traffic tickets, and offers careful examination of the events leading to your citation in an effort to discover inconsistencies in police reports or malfunctions in equipment used to gather pieces of evidence against you. In case any weaknesses have been found, a lawyer uses them to apply pressure on the prosecution in an effort to reduce or eliminate charges against you. Hiring the services of a traffic lawyer have many advantages for you as a driver. With the help of one, you may even continue driving while suspended. If you wish to keep your records clean and avoid paying penalties, you should consult an attorney who specializes in traffic law. The court system can be frustrating and confusing most of the time, therefore, it is in the best interest of the defendant to seek legal help.

Need a personal injury lawyer to help deal with the insurance company?

Brief description: I was rear ended by another vehicle while stopped in traffic.  I was also being pushed into the car in front who was also stopped.  I was taken to ER afterwards and the driver who hit me was being charged.  I'm having problems with the insurance as I had another accident earlier on Dec 5, 2010.  I have not finished the physio treatment when the 2nd accident happened.  My employer insisted that I filed WSIB as I was on my way back home from a client site.  I initially contacted another paralegal for initial consultation.  I was told that I cannot claim  WSIB if I go through WSIB.  I withdrew from WSIB claim and contacted the paralegal rep but none of my calls being returned.  I need someone to help me to deal with insurance and the medical assessment requested by insurance.  It's been a lot of stress calling different people at the insurance.

Why do I have to endure the grilling independant assessments?  Why do they ask me questions like where were you born that is totally not related to the assessment? Is this legal?

I would like go get treatment and I understand my back should settle down.

A familiar story  - this could happen to you.

My daughter was in a minor accident in her car (my car legally). She rear ended someone at a light. The impact was minor and broke the plastic on her front license. The other people were very upset and called 911. When my daughter called I offered to pay for the other people’s damages but they claimed they would require a new bumper and possible engine repairs. They also felt the passenger had suffered ’whiplash’. The police suggested she had not. It might be up to a personal injury lawyer to decide. They had two marks from the screws holding the license. So I reported the accident to my insurance company. Being a weekend, I have to wait until Monday to talk to a claim’s rep. We won’t be repairing my car’s license plate.

Now the other car owner has called and wants me to pay for his repairs (about $300) rather than going through insurance.

What I’m wondering is if it is of any value now, paying for his repairs, as I have already approached my insurance company and opened a file. With a collision report made by the police on site, will my daughter’s insurance go up anyway?

If you can help me understand this I’d appreciate it. Thanks. :)
